BDO Digital Featured in CRN on Microsoft Scrapping Pay-As-You-Go Policy

Beginning Feb. 1, Microsoft is canning its pay-as-you-go Azure direct sales policy. New Microsoft Products & Services Agreement (MPSA) customers purchasing Azure will be "guided to" Cloud Solution Providers instead.

Microsoft solution providers say this licensing shift could open the door to increase Azure cloud sales momentum for the channel. A recent CRN article predicts Azure windfall as Microsoft scraps pay-as-you-go policy. Many tech pros agree that this decision will result in a better cloud experience for customers. BDO Digital's Ric Opal weighs in on this shift,

I think Microsoft is trying to make sure that as customers enter the journey, they will be set up with the partner community to have a successful experience. Partners are trained to look at their customers' business models as it relates to their intentions in the cloud.
